The difficulty of checking an immense mass of pedigrees -- English, Australian, and American -- is in itself a very serious one to any but an idle man. Taken as a whole, the book will be found full of interest, sound reasoning, and novel ideas; the Figure System in itself being a model of convenience and simplicity, serviceable to all breeders alike, whether they agree with the author's deduction from it or not. Personally, I think his views on the "Sire Families" and Running Families" are sound, as also his theory of Saturation.
