Barrie is best known for his later works featuring Peter Pan! This hardcover children’s book was published by Thomas Y. Crowell & Company (New York). The book has green cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering and design on the spine. The front cover reads “The Astor Prose Series”, which dates the book to circa 1896 . The book is 454 pages and remains well bound, although its front hinge is cracked. As shown in the photos, the book has some cover wear and tear, including a few marks in white. It has generally clean pages with no writing, few (if any) creases or tears, and some foxing or spotting. The tissue is still in place over the frontispiece illustration.
