A TRUE First U.S. Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! Please remember this is the First U.S. Edition. NOT the U.K. Edition. We recently purchased a large collection of Dick Francis books and ephemera and will be listing a majority of the collection. This collection includes numerous First American and U.K. Editions, some of which are Signed and/or Inscribed, Limited Editions, Easton Press Editions, and some general ephemera. This rare treasure has some clearly visible wear, but is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and other than some previous owner writing/marks on one page, has no internal writing, no remainder marks, no missing pages and is NOT Ex-Libris or a BCE. The binding feels shaky/loose but is still holding tight. All of the pages are present, attached and still surprisingly crisp and clean. Some general/shelf wear along with creases/marks/wear to the spine/corners/boards, marks/wear to the edge/fore pages and creases/marks/wear to the pages, NOT affecting the text! Please note the large marks on the edge/fore pages and the wear that is present on the pages, particularly noticeable on certain pages! All of the wear previously mentioned is clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. As mentioned before, there is some internal writing! The previous owner writing/marks are located on the half-title page. The writing/page has been closely photographed for your consideration. The original, First State dust jacket is price-clipped, otherwise fully intact. Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, rips and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is clearly visible. All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying.
